Hershey is a Chihuahua/Rat Terrior mix that my mom first purchased in 1997 as a gift to herself. I helped raise Hershey from puppyhood into a young dog. I eventually moved away from home, then moved to Texas. My mom followed and brought Hershey with her. In August 2002, mom moved back to North Carolina, leaving Hershey behind, so she became my dog.
Hershey is somewhat trained, and she understands the commands sit, get down, lay down, dinner, up, and kennel, but she doesn't always like to obey them. She also understands many other human words, including fries, car ride, and kiss. She is a jealous natured dog and would be quite happy to be the only one in the house, though she also knows that when she acts too jealous, it just causes her to get ignored. When I sleep in my bed, she sleeps beside me. Otherwise she sleeps randomly around the house, sometimes in front of the gas heater, sometimes on a arm chair pillow in the dining room, sometimes in her kennel.
