I love music as anyone who knows me could tell you, and I list to a wide variety of sounds. For the curious amongst you, here are the MP3s currently in my collection (at least, on my computer, I do have some that are on CD only). I have the songs sorted into several "genres" for easy managing.
Rules of Acquisition
I a fairly generous person and I am usually quite willing to share mp3s with people who ask nicely. However, there are a few types of behaviors that push my buttons and get requests ignored. Ones I've experienced so far:
- Laziness - asking for a very easy to find song...laziness is not a virtue. If the song is one that be found within 5 minutes of searching on a P2P site (or on the sites I list for Anime and Video Game tracks), I'll usually just delete the request.
- Greediness - asking for more than 2-3 songs usually strikes me as rather greedy, and asking for a whole album or group of songs will usually annoy me to no end. Again, I'll probably either ignore you or send back a sharp retort, depending on my mood at the time I get the message.
- Rudeness - goes without saying...asking nice or don't ask at all
- Bad Email Addresses - Don't ask for a song fom an email address that can not handle a large file! I only send via email, so make sure your inbox can take it, because a bounce back to me will annoy me. Estimate 1 gig per minute of song, since many of my songs are at 256 bitrate. If your email can't accept large attachements, Yahoo Mail is free and can.
- Special circumstances: on the anime page, there are some links to various albums on the side. Don't ask for MP3s from those, go buy the album. The whole thing is good, and worth it! Ditto for any soundtrack that I have 90-100% of the songs from. If I have that much, the whole thing is good, just go snag it. DeepDiscount has extremely great prices!
It took me years to amass my collection and I know how hard some songs can be to find, so I'm very willing to help with those. However, you had to have tried looking for it first (and yes, I'll know if it's an easy to find song). |
