Many people have accidentally gotten in a lot of trouble because they didn't realize that intellectual property laws to exist for internet products in the same way that they do for offline materials. This copyright policy serves two purposes.
1) It helps anyone who might be unsure about what they can and can not do with the stuff on my site know this information. 2) Because I have posted this explicit notice, anyone caught disregarding it would be guilty of blatant theft and I will prosecute.
- I. Copyrighted Text
- I, Summer S. Wilson, and my company Eclectic Designs hold All Rights Reserved copyrights on all of the textual material written in the domain names of eclectic-world.com, eclectic-designs.com and eclectic-mall.com. No part of the texts within said domain names and web sites, nor the text stored in databases associated with said domains, shall be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, or otherwise, without written permission. The only exception I outright grant here is downloading pages to a PDA for offline reading. One copy may be downloaded to your PC (non-networked, non-shared except for a household environment) for offline reading if you have a 56k or less connection and delete all copies within 30 days of downloading. I worked very hard in writing everything that appears on my site, and will not tolerate anyone taking my works, especially if it is in an attempt to turn a profit from it.
- II. Copyrighted Images
- All photographs appearing in the opening page, All About Me and Eclectic Series Extras sections are copyrighted by myself, unless otherwise noted in their description. They shall not be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, or otherwise, without written permission. They are not to be downloaded to a PDA or PC without my expressed permission unless you are a family member or someone who appears in the list of friends in my All About Me pages. Images found elsewhere in the site are also copyrighted and subject to the same terms. Copyright holders are either noted on the images, near the images or in the comments of the HTML code. All of these images are used in good-faith with the belief that they are royalty-free and/or public domain. If this is incorrect and you are the copyright holder of one of these images, please contact me so that I can either obtain proper licensing or remove the image all together.
- II. Programming Behind the Site
- Programs in use that I do not own the copyright too are used with the author's permission and are duly noted in both the program comments and in results pages that the programs produce. Programs created by myself are again copyrighted with all rights reserved and shall not be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, or otherwise, without written permission. None of the programs on my site are currently open source or freeware, though I will be making versions available for download at a later time.
